This dapper feline belongs to Amanda Clarke of Transchem. Snickers – who got his name because his coloring resembled the colors of the candy bar, is a 13-year-old Maine Coon and American Longhair mix. He was quite the explorer of the great outdoors in his younger days, but now that he’s a senior, he’s retired from prowling.
“We tried to keep him inside as a kitten but had so much energy. He jumped on our Christmas tree and knocked it down!” said Amanda. “After that, he was an outside cat. But he’s retired now so we keep him inside.”
Snickers still gets the thrill being outside…sitting atop his cat tree allows him to watch the birds outside. “When they get close, he has a special hunting meow that sounds like he’s chirping,” said Amanda. Snickers isn’t your typical self-absorbed kitty. He truly enjoys being around people. “He is so loving and gets along well with everybody. Whenever we have visitors, he comes right up to investigate, runs and hides, but eventually comes back out for attention. He can never get enough pets.”
