Look. At. That. Face. This is our Pet of the Month, Doug the Chug. As you can probably guess, Doug is a Chihuahua/Pug mix and is the fur child of Jima Miller of Transchem. Don’t let his small stature fool you. According to Jima, he can be a bit feisty when it comes to larger dogs and has on occasion dominated dogs 10 times his size.
“Doug and his neighborhood friends love to get together and play,” Jima wrote. “He is very nice and gentle with dogs that are the same size or smaller than he. However, he has a bit of a Napoleon complex. He likes to play rough with the big dogs. One time, he even got a Great Dane to roll over in submission. He is small, but fierce!”
Doug is quite the snuggle chug, but when not cozying up to his humans, he enjoys a good romp on the beach. His favorite haunt is the dog beach in Del Mar where he loves making new doggie friends. Getting other dogs to chase him is his favorite activity. While he’s there he might even dip his paws in the surf, but, as Jima said, he’s really not the best swimmer.
