If you are still using a Windows 7 operating system device, you might soon have problems accessing the Greenlight Cloud. Microsoft ended support for the Windows 7 OS on January 14, 2020, which meant that those computers would no longer receive important security and performance updates and patches.
As operating systems reach their end of life (EOL), software providers discontinue support of their applications running on those outdated systems. The platform on which our private cloud is based has declared it will no longer support devices running Windows 7. To connect to the Greenlight cloud, you must have a currently supported platform. The 2006 version will work, but it is not supported any longer, meaning no updates or patches will be made.
If you are a compliant entity, running Windows 7 presents a serious risk and you will fail your annual security audit. In today’s environment where patching and security updates are critical to protecting your data and your company, no business can afford to take the risk of keeping Windows 7 machines on their network.
Because of EOL for Windows 7, MIS Solutions will no longer support Windows 7 devices effective June 30, 2021.
What should you do? Replace any machines that are still running Windows 7 or older operating systems on or before June 30, 2021. If you have questions, talk with your account manager.
