As the world is shifting to moving data and applications to the cloud, traditional software vendors are phasing out perpetual licenses. We are seeing a trend toward annual and monthly licensing. As such, we wanted to advise you so you are ready and prepared. A number of our clients are feeling this change and so as your guide in all things tech – we wanted you to be up to speed on this trend. In some cases, for connector applications and integration middleware – where clients bought perpetual licenses – these programs are sunsetting.
How do you prepare?
Take a software inventory to see if there are apps that you don’t regularly renew for maintenance. Now would be the time to take a look at those and budget for replacing them at some point.
