Since joining the team in 2014, Kary has worn many hats. As MIS has grown, she has been able to hand some of those hats off to other folks so she can focus mostly on executive wrangling – meaning she manages Jennifer’s calendar and appointments and keeps her on track and on time. Jennifer has often referred to Kary as a swan – calmly floating on the surface while fiercely paddling underneath to keep things going and afloat.
Where are you from? I was born in Charlotte, N.C., but I grew up in Teays Valley, W.Va.
Tell us about your family. I’ve been married to Gary for 21 years. We met when I was playing in a volleyball tournament in high school/college. He is an Army veteran of 26 years and now works as a logistics manager. They have a 14-year-old son, Drew, who loves playing basketball, football and, of course, video games. Their cat Graycie (a Russian Blue) and dog Daisy Lou (Catahoula Leopard Dog/Shepherd mix) round out the Faucher home.
What is your favorite food? Spaghetti or pizza.
What is your favorite book? Not much of a reader. I study my Bible, does that count?
What’s the craziest/funniest/most outrageous thing you’ve ever witnessed/done? The most outrageous thing I have ever witnessed is this COVID-19 virus crisis. Never thought I would see something like this in my lifetime.
Do you have any hobbies? Love to play volleyball, but I don’t get to do that much anymore. Really enjoy watching Drew in all of his sport activities. I am his LOUDEST cheerleader (and embarrass him often, but that is what moms are for!)
Where are some of the places you’ve travelled and what was your favorite? Maui, Hawaii has been my favorite. My hubby and I traveled there for our 20th wedding anniversary. Such a beautiful place!
What is something most people don’t know about you? I am an absolute maniac when I watch my favorite sports teams. I yell and scream and cheer A LOT.
What is one thing you avoid like the plague? Yardwork! Yuck.
Favorite quote? ‘”At the end of the day people won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.” ~ Maya Angelou
Favorite pro football team? Cleveland Browns (lived near Cleveland, Ohio, for 12 years)
What did you do before joining MIS? I’ve worked as a cashier in a pet store and a grocery store. I was an administrative assistant at a hospital and dental office. I even worked as an assistant property manager for a large HOA. But for the past 16 years I’ve been an executive assistant, mostly for large corporations.
Tell us a little bit about what you do each day in your job. My main job is to manage Jennifer’s hectic schedule and keep her on track and prepped for meetings. I also assist the Executive Team and help with HR tasks, office maintenance, scheduling company events, etc. Pretty much whatever is needed.
What do you like best about working at MIS? The staff’s sense of humor. We work really hard, but can always make each other laugh. I also enjoy the variety of tasks. I never know what I will be dealing with when I walk through the door!
What do you like to do for fun outside of work? Enjoy going to the movies, watching sports with my family, hanging out with my son (when he lets me!)
