Technical Purchasing Specialist
Adam joined team MIS a little over a year ago as the company’s technical purchasing specialist. He hails from Fort Gordon, Ga., near Augusta. Adam is a craft beer connoisseur who loves visiting local establishments and enjoying quaffable brews.
Tell me about your family…wife, kids, pets. I’ve been with my wife Courtney for 18 years (9 married). She’s a Salesforce Administrator for a large technology company. NO KIDS! Two dogs, a Pug, Winston and a Cairn Terrier mix, Phoebe. We are definitely dog people.
What is your favorite food? I love a classic down-home Southern breakfast. You can’t beat it.
Name something on your bucket list. I would love to go backpacking through Germany during Oktoberfest.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I originally wanted (and still want to) be an architect. I have incredible respect and love of the built environment, I was just not made out for it from an academic perspective.
What is one thing you avoid like the plague? Getting sick. I hate getting sick, it makes me so unproductive.
Favorite book? A Soldier’s Notebook – It’s a great view into the daily life and thinking of a Russian general from World War I and the struggles he faced.
Favorite vacation spot? I’m pretty open to whatever. As long as I’m taking a break from the world, the mountains or the beach is fine with me.
Favorite movie? Forrest Gump. What a great movie.
Favorite quote? Something very relevant to today: George S. Patton: “If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn’t thinking”.
Tell us a little bit about what you do each day. My days are mostly spent researching solutions for clients, creating quotes, follow-ups, processing purchasing and managing the inside sales/procurement activities for the company.
What’s the most fun thing about your job and why? I think the fun is that every client is a little different.
What is the most challenging part of your job? The most challenging part is learning all of the preferences and needs of individual clients.
